Class of 2028

Dr. Elisabeth Beason is an Internal Medicine resident and rising Chief Resident. Originally from the Cincinnati, Ohio area, she has a strong passion for cardiovascular medicine, medical education, mentorship, and improving care for underserved communities. She is especially interested in quality improvement and health equity and has helped lead projects focused on hypertension control, remote blood pressure monitoring, and expanding access to cardiovascular care through a resident-supported cardiology clinic.

Within the residency program, Elisabeth enjoys teaching and mentoring residents and medical students while helping create an environment where trainees feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow. She has also been involved in resident wellness, shared governance, and initiatives supporting women in medicine.

Her interest in cardiology is rooted not only in the complexity of cardiovascular medicine, but also in the opportunity to address disparities in cardiovascular outcomes. She plans to pursue fellowship training in cardiovascular disease after residency.

Outside of the hospital, Elisabeth enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, Pilates, hiking, trying new activities, and testing her skills on the golf course. She also loves interior design and enjoys creating beautiful, inviting spaces as a creative outlet outside of medicine. Whether she’s horseback riding in Tennessee, exploring a new place, or redesigning a room, she enjoys experiences that allow her to be creative and step outside of her comfort zone. She values faith, family, community, and finding joy and balance outside of medicine.
